My name is Matt Zuberko and I’m a certified SQL Server DBA, data modeler and ETL developer who is a strong proponent of being passionate for one’s tradecraft. I’m always looking for opportunities to apply newly learned techniques and build utilities that make a DB professional more of a force-multiplier. 

Database Administration

I’ve worked with SQL Server as a DBA since 2000, touching every major release from 7 through 2019, not to mention Azure SQL Database. I’ve worked with portfolios as large as 150 servers and 2,300 databases, maintaining high availability with failover clusters and replication. My .NET programming skills give me an edge in building core DBA utilities for maximum automation.

Database and ETL Development

Starting with my foundation in OLTP application development and evolving with Kimball Dimensional modeling, I use T-SQL, XQuery, SSIS, SMO and VB.NET to not only model but also transform raw data into actionable intelligence. Kronos data stores exceeding 1 TB and clinical data warehouses exceeding 25 TB are my fields of battle.

Passionate for the SQL Server Tradecraft

I believe wholeheartedly in learning the SQL Server tradecraft. I’ve achieved MCSA and MCSE certifications on SQL Server 2016, as well as MCITP and MCDBA certs on older versions. I’ve been to the PASS Summit three times and a regular attendee for SQL Saturdays in NYC, Philly, Boston and DC. I’ve given back to the community as a top 10% contributor on DBA StackExchange.
